In the year since the introduction of the GDPR legislation (May 2018 – May 2019), the Data Protection Commission (DPC) received 6,200 complaints relating to breaches of data protection. Of these 6,200 complaints, over 5,800 were deemed as valid, a significant number which has marked a new era in data protection standards.
